The Cochranton Community Fair Board is initiating a campaign to replace the home show building. The present building dates back to the 20’ and 30’s. It has served the fair well, but the cracked unlevel concrete floor is problematic and a walking hazard. The old structure has worn away at the foundation leaving gaps for animals to occupy the building. It’s past refurbishing.
In the past years the Fair Board has improved the bench area thanks to donations of bleachers from Crawford Central. The sound system now encompasses much of the Fairgrounds allowing for better communication during Fair week. Thanks to a generous donation of Jason Gilliand there is a new horse enclosure.
Now is the time for the Home Show building to have it’s turn.
On Monday July 18 6:30 pm at the Bingo Shelter on the Fairgrounds, the Home Show building Committee is having a town meeting to gather information from the local community. It is a brain storming meeting where there is no right or wrong answers only information gathered.
The information gathered will be compiled into a plan to go forward with the construction of a new building.
The Cochranton Community Fair is for the community. Yes, there is a board that oversees it, but the meetings are always open to the public and any persons interested in being part of the workings of the fair.
Anyone who is interesting in having their input known or wants to be a part of this new endeavor is welcome to attend.
